And it will take place, in France, from September 2 on the boards of Deauville, with a 48th edition which will take place until the 11th inclusive. On the program: forty feature films (including thirteen in Competition), preview events, a hint of Cannes and four prizes awarded to actors. Follow the leader !

THE FIRST

This is one of the unmissable events of the Deauville American Film Festival: its previews. And this year, they will allow the public to discover two feature films shown in Venice (Blonde and Don’t Worry Darling), a few days before their release. Or the first realization of Jesse Eisenberg. Not to mention a horror film that made noise across the Atlantic.

THE GUESTS

THE COMPETITION

Thirteen films are in the running to try to succeed Down with the King, winner of the Grand Prix in 2021, and which will only be released on VOD in France.

The feature films will be decided by two juries. The main one, led by Arnaud Desplechin and in which we will also find Jean-Paul Civeyrac, Pierre Deladonchamps, Léa Drucker, Yasmina Khadra, Sophie Letourneur, Alex Lutz and Marine Vacth.

And the Revelation jury chaired by Elodie Bouchez, alongside Andréa Bescond, Eddy de Pretto, Nicolas Pariser, Agathe Rousselle and Yolande Zauberman.

CROISETTE TIME

In 2020, Covid obliges, the Cannes Film Festival had not taken place. But Deauville had invited some of the films from its selection. An exception that has become one of the appointments of the Normandy event, and which continues this year again. With fewer films, of course, but the winners of the Palme d’Or and the Grand Prix.

WINDOW ON FRENCH CINEMA

Like Cannes, French cinema now regularly invites itself to the stage for previews

THE UNCLE SAM DOCUMENTS

As every year, documentaries will be honored on the boards. And thanks to the 2022 selection, the spotlight will be on John Belushi, David Bowie or David Lynch, via an exploration of his fascination with The Wizard of Oz.

ORNANO-VALENTI PRIZE

We already know the first winner of this edition, announced with the rest of the selection. Even before, as in the case of Falcon Lake, signed Charlotte Le Bon, who will be awarded the Ornano-Valenti Prize which rewards a first feature film and guarantees its promotion abroad. Expected on December 7 in our theaters, it will also be screened in preview.
