The grand prize of the 48th American film festival was awarded on September 10, 2022 to aftersun from director Charlotte Wells, a poignant film about a vacationing father’s relationship with his 11-year-old daughter. This feature film, which succeeds the winners of Down with the King by Diego Ongaro, received the highest distinction of the festival. The critics’ jury, made up of five journalists, also awarded its prize to aftersun, who also won the “French Touch” prize in Cannes in May.

The public prize, chosen by the festival-goers who were able to vote, went to Emily The Criminalwhich traces the journey of a woman sinking into crime in California.
