The presidential campaign has officially begun. Several weeks after having validated their sponsorships, the twelve candidates for the Elysée Palace entered the home straight this Monday, March 28. Less than two weeks before the first round of the ballot, the speaking and airtime counters are reset to zero and the media must now respect perfect fairness between the candidates. From that date, all also unveiled their official television spots, broadcast on television. On April 10, the French will go to the polls to choose the two personalities who will face off in the second round on April 24.. These candidates will meet a few days before for the traditional debate between the two rounds.

As five years ago, in 2017, the two candidates will debate face-to-face. As a reminder, it was in 1974 that this political meeting was established, with Valéry Giscard d’Estaing and François Mitterrand. And the competing channels are already preparing to change their programs so as not to suffer from the broadcasting of this debate. For the moment, the names of the journalists who will animate this debate have not yet been revealed, but it could well be the same duo as in 2017, during the confrontation of Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen, Christophe Jakubyszyn and Nathalie Saint-Cricq.

Unless it is Gilles Bouleau-Anne-Sophie Lapix, the two presenters of 20 hours TF1 and France 2, who are at the helm of this confrontation. PFor the moment, the channels have not given further details on this debate. It also remains to be seen which of the twelve candidates will be present on April 20. Less than two weeks before the presidential election, Emmanuel Macron is leading the polls. In the latest electoral survey by Cevipof and the Jean Jaurès Foundation for Le Monde, he obtained 28% of voting intentions. In second place: Marine Le Pen is located at 17.5%. Third man, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, is given 14% of the voting intentions. Behind them ? Eric Zemmour (11.5%), Valérie Pécresse (10%) and Yannick Jadot (7%). Will the debate between the two rounds be the same as five years ago?
