Decathlon strengthens its electric bike offering with the model E-EDR AF APEX AXS 12S from the Van Rysel brand. Its weight is intended to be ultra light since it is less than 14 kilos in size M. This two-wheeler is intended for long distances, the road and the mountains with optimization designed for these conditions. The battery has been designed to last 5 years or 500 cycles with an announced range of 100 kilometers and 160 kilometers by adding an additional external battery. Decathlon opted for a Mahle X35 unit with a power of 250 W and a 250 Wh battery. Note that recharging is done directly on the two wheels since the battery is not removable.

This model has an aluminum chassis and a carbon fork to be light and comfortable. In terms of safety, the Van Rysel electric bike is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and 32 mm wide tires with an estimated lifespan of 6,000 kilometers under normal road use conditions. As required by law, its maximum speed is set at 25 km/h. The Van Rysel electric road bike is equipped with an APEX AXS transmission with a 12-speed single chainring. The side mounting eyelets support up to 4 kilos on each sheath and up to 10 kg if you install a luggage rack.

A BC 900 meter is included with the Van Rysel electric road bike to view battery charge, remaining range and assistance level. You can get a detailed report of your outings by connecting it to the app Decathlon Connect. If you want to use your smartphone or your usual meter, the system has an Ant+ and Bluetooth connection. The Mahle application allows you to refine your settings and retrieve data from your outings.

The Van Rysel E-EDR AF APEX AXS 12S electric road bike is sold on the Decathlon website at the price of 2800 euros in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL. You can also pay it in 4 monthly installments of 700 euros without fees. This two-wheeler was tested for more than 6 months in different conditions of altitude, temperatures and assistance to allow the teams to refine its characteristics.
