For several months now, WorldMakers tease Deceit 2sequel to his horror game free-to-play At gameplay asymmetric. Well, today things are moving forward with the sharing ofa first trailer and the launch of the page Steam of the title, which will modify the mechanics of the gameplay.
In Deceit 2, six to nine players witness a dark ritual, but two of them are infected who must quietly activate blood altars to transport real humans into theBetween two, an alternate world where the powers of the infected are increased tenfold. On the side of the survivors, the goal will obviously be to escape the ritual thanks to a few objects and especially by showing deduction to find the infected and banish them. Millhaven Asylum, 1979. An occult ritual turns tragic, killing all but one member of a once important family. The case went unsolved for decades, until the intrepid Truth Seekers Anonymous stepped in. Now you are trapped, and you must participate in the ritual of deception led by the terrible Game Master.
Deceit 2 is a social horror and deduction game for 6-9 players in which two of you have been infected. As the infected respond to the Game Master’s orders, the innocents must cooperate to escape the ritual while deducing who is plotting against them. Who can you trust?
- DECEPTION AND MANIPULATION :
Infected players can activate blood altars located across the map, weakening reality until it shatters entirely. This transports all players to the In-between, a parallel dimension in which the infected have terrifying powers. Infected players will wreak havoc and sabotage the efforts of innocent players, but they can get knocked out if spotted outside the In-between.
Once the infected players have summoned the In-between, you’ll need to keep moving towards the exit while avoiding the infected and their new powers. Your mind will be tormented as you chase through the In-Between. A player will have to die to perform the ritual. Who will be sacrificed?
For innocent players, unity is strength. They can eliminate any player suspected of being infected by injuring them, thus triggering a banishment ritual. Make sure the player involved is guilty, or else you’ll downsize your own team. Complete tasks and collect souls for the mysterious merchant who, in exchange, will offer you useful items for your investigations, to survive the terrible In-between and to finally escape.
Deceit 2 is designed as a social sandbox with unique and creative ways to play both roles. Deceit is essential in this game: you will have to study the behavior of other players and assess the situation, avoiding making decisions that are too hasty. There are plenty of tools to help you out, but with item and map variations between games, you’ll need to adapt your strategy on the fly.
Deceit 2 is expected sometime in 2023 on PC through Steam, but also on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The economic model was not specified, but the first part had 13 million players in free-to-play, just on computers. You can find cards NHP on Amazon.
