Deceptively real – this Ducati 959 Panigale is a China copy!

If it weren’t for the Moxiao and Moxiao engine on the fairing, it wouldn’t be easy to find out that this isn’t a Ducati 959 Panigale. At least not as long as you don’t hear them or drive them. Because it is a replica from China – with only 47.5 hp …

Well, the deception withstands at least a cursory glance. One does not like to talk about plagiarism, because one cannot seriously confuse the two motorcycles. The Moxiao 500RR also makes no secret of what it really is: an entry-level bike in the 500cc class, with a 471 cc in-line twin to be precise. The look is pure show.

The engine is not built by anyone, but by Loncin, which is known at least in specialist circles because BMW, for example, has engines built there, including for the 850/900 series.

Loncin did not invent the motor of the Moxiao 500RR itself, it is based on a Honda unit. After all, it delivers 43 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. from what is enough for a top speed of 165 km / h. Tempo 100 should be applied after 6.1 seconds if you step through the transmission fast enough. A quickshifter is only available on the original.

The brakes and tires are completely oversized for a bike of this class, but correspond to the appearance of the Ducati: 230 double disc brakes with radial calipers at the front, a 280 mm disc at the rear, plus 120/70 tires at the front and 190/50 at the rear. The tank is also relatively huge at 22 liters.

The Chinese gem costs the equivalent of 4500 euros in the Middle Kingdom. Now all you have to do is find someone to sell it to you.
