Easter is coming! And what better way to put you in a springtime mood than a beautiful Easter bouquet of twigs and flowers?

Easter is coming. The first spring flowers are sprouting, the air is mild and nature takes on color again after the gray winter. An Easter bouquet of pussy willows, tulips, primroses and Co. is a particularly beautiful symbol for the awakening of nature and spreads decorative spring fever. These branches and flowers are best for this.

These branches are perfect for the Easter bouquet

The classics among the Easter branches are of course the palm or willow catkins. But also forsythia, cherry, dogwood, birch and hazel branches make a good basis for a beautiful bouquet. However, if you suffer from hay fever or allergies, you should avoid the latter two. Some of the branches can be found in the garden or while walking in nature. To protect bees and other insects, however, it is better to buy catkin branches from the nursery.

Cut the selected branches diagonally with a sharp knife and remove the lower buds so that they are not in the water. Then tie up and place in a vase or another large vessel with lukewarm water (approx. 40 degrees).

These spring flowers fit into the Easter bouquet

In addition to twigs, colorful flowers also belong in an Easter bouquet. The classic spring flower is the tulip in all its colors. Bright daffodils, delicate peonies, lush ranunculus, daffodils and hyacinths are also available from florists in spring. For a more subtle bouquet, one type of flower in different shades or two simple varieties is sufficient.

Several types of flowers in different colors, on the other hand, create an explosive flower fireworks display. Make sure to cut the stems and lower leaves of each flower so that they stay fresh longer. Then the flowers can be placed in the vase with the branches, preferably on different levels, so that the bouquet looks more voluminous.

Colored eggs, feathers and ribbons for that certain something

In order to give the Easter bouquet that certain something, discreet decorative items should not be missing. For example, you can attach marbled or colored Easter eggs to the branches; preferably in subtle, natural colors so that they do not distract from the flowers. Colorful feathers or feather fluff are also an eye-catcher on the Easter bouquet. If you like, you can hang the bouquet with colorful ribbons.
