Deep cuts – mower hit farmer’s leg

A 66-year-old man suffered two deep cuts when his leg was hit by a scythe mower while he was working on a meadow in Schetteregg on Monday morning. The man had previously tried to free the cutting tool.

While the 66-year-old was working with the motor mower on a meadow in Schetteregg, a piece of grass or moss suddenly got tangled in the scythe mower. The farmer left the machine running. He secured the clutch on the left handlebar of the mower and tried to free the cutting tool from the grass.Injury to the calfThe clutch suddenly came loose and the mower started moving. The man’s left leg was caught by the cutting tool. The farmer suffered two deep cuts on his calf. After receiving first aid from the Egg rescue service, he was flown to Dornbirn City Hospital in the “Christophorus 8” emergency helicopter.
