In Germany in 2022, music by local artists via the Deezer streaming service had the most views.

Local musicians dominate the Deezer charts 2022 in Germany. The most streamed artist ever was the rapper Kontra K (35). This emerges from the “2022 Rewind” annual review of the music streaming service. The German rockers from Rammstein ranked second, the singer-songwriter LEA (30) made it to third place. Ed Sheeran (32) is the first foreign artist to appear on the four, while rapper Luciano (28) completes the top five.

Globally, the US rock band Imagine Dragons was the most streamed, Canadian R&B singer The Weeknd (32) came second and Ed Sheeran gathered the third most listeners. The Puerto Rican Reagaeton singer Bad Bunny (28) is fourth, the musicians from Coldplay were fifth.

Rammstein’s “Zeit” is the most listened to album

Rammstein leads the album charts in Germany with “Zeit”, according to the Deezer “2022 Rewind”. This is followed by “Rausch” by Schlager-Queen Helene Fischer (38) in second place and “For Heaven through Hell” by Kontra K in third place. Ed Sheeran’s record “=” took fourth place and British superstar Harry Styles (28) was fifth with “Harry’s House”.

From a global point of view, Bad Bunny is at the forefront with “Un Verano Sin Ti”. “Multitude” by Belgian hip-hop artist Stromae (37) follows behind, third place goes to Styles’ “Harry’s House”. “30” by pop diva Adele (34) was the fourth most listened to, The Weeknd’s “Dawn FM” was on the top five.

The Germans love “Beautiful Girl”

The song “Beautiful Girl” by the rapper Luciano (28) particularly appealed to the Germans. No one was heard more often on Deezer in this country in 2022. The 28-year-old also has a lot planned for the next year: “Thanks for everything, but 2023 is already loading,” he wrote on Instagram. The hit by the native of Bautzen is followed by the track “abcdefu” by US singer Gayle (18) and in third place “As It Was” by Harry Styles. “Cold Heart” by pop icon Elton John (75) is in fourth place, “Where Are You Now” by Lost Frequencies secured five.

Styles’ “As It Was” is even at the top internationally, Nigerian rapper Rema (22) takes second place with “Calm Down” and Camila Cabello (25) secures third place with “Bam Bam”. Imagine Dragons’ “Bones” had the fourth most Deezer views, while DJs Imanbek (22) and Byor’s “Belly Dancer” was fifth.
