Delayed flight or canceled flight? Up to 600 euros compensation in 3 steps

Compensation for flight delays or flight cancellations

Vacation is a hotly debated topic right now, and there is great disagreement. But even if the corona-related restrictions are gradually loosened or even completely lifted, everything does not always run smoothly, especially when traveling by air – think back to your last airport stays.

Have there been delays, flight cancellations and / or overbookings? If these were not the result of force majeure, you are entitled to one Compensation of up to 600 euros. This expires after three years at the end of the year. So if you had trouble with a flight in 2017 or later, you can get money back from the airline and thus fill up the cash register for the next vacation. That can, but does not have to be a flight.

The legal situation is actually pretty clear for EU consumers. Because according to the EU Passenger Rights Regulation 261/2004, flight delays of more than 3 hours (or if you miss a connecting flight as a result), cancellations and overbooking entitle you to childcare services and compensation of up to 600 euros. And anyone who has ever flown has certainly experienced these situations one time or another. The only catch: In practice, it is not always easy to assert claims against the airlines.

This is where flight law comes into play – a service that claims compensation for travelers and (if necessary) takes it to court. There is no risk or a lot of time for you. The (free) check only takes a few minutes.

In three easy steps to compensation

As befits a modern online service, flight law works very simply in three steps:

Step 1: Take two minutes for the quick check by entering the relevant flight details.

Step 2: If there is a claim for compensation, flight law takes over the tax and puts pressure on the airline. If no out-of-court settlement is reached, flight law can also go to court with your case.

Step 3: If successful, the compensation will be paid to you. Depending on the case, 20 to 30 percent of this is due as a commission for flight law.

If flight law does not provide you with any compensation, there are no costs or fees – so you do not take any risks.

Compensation amount:

  • 250 euro up to a distance of 1,500 km
  • 400 euros for flights over 1,500 km within the EU and for other flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km
  • 600 euros for flights to or from other EU countries over 3,500 km

Without prepayment: commission only in case of success

The big advantage of flight law is that you don't have to deal with the airline yourself. This anger should prevent many travelers from claiming compensation at all. Aviation law does this for you. There is also a big advantage in terms of costs; Because they only apply to flight law if they are successful. If compensation is paid, aviation law retains 20 to 30 percent of it – depending on the circumstances. You don't have to pay anything in advance.
