MDespite the great speeches of the two finalists in the presidential election on the return of sovereignty, the situation of the French economy is likely to remain, over the next five years, much more dependent on external events and decisions taken in Moscow, Washington , Berlin or Frankfurt as future measures implemented by the Élysée. The real economic leeway of its next tenant looks extremely limited.
Powerless
Firstly, he will have no remedy at his disposal to fight effectively against the wave of inflation that is sweeping across the planet and which, even before the election, had rendered the candidates’ economic programs obsolete and all their beautiful promises on purchasing power.
