Flink takes over French competitors

Flink describes itself as the market leader in Germany and the Netherlands. The delivery service is now expanding to another neighboring country. With the move to France, Flink is also entering into a partnership with the supermarket giant Carrefour.
The German fast food delivery service Flink is expanding its foothold in France with the takeover of its French competitor Cajoo. Flink will no longer only supply customers in Paris, but also in eight other major cities, announced the $3 billion startup, in which the US group DoorDash also has a stake.
With the acquisition, Flink brings the Cajoo investor and supermarket giant Carrefour on board, which will also exclusively supply Flink with goods. Carrefour manager Elodie Perthuisot also described the step as strengthening its own online strategy. Information on the purchase price was not given. In the Corona crisis, express delivery services have sprung up around the world like mushrooms. They were able to win many customers, but have invested a lot of money in the expansion of the numerous mini-warehouses and marketing, which is why they usually write high losses. In addition to Flink, there are gorillas and getir, among others, in Europe.
Cajoo has only existed for 15 months. According to the company, it processed 450,000 orders in the first quarter and the Cajoo app was downloaded more than 400,000 times. The integration into the Flink app should be completed by the summer, it said. Flink, on the other hand, is currently on the road in 90 cities in Germany, France, the Netherlands and Austria and has more than 200 small warehouses.
Flink describes itself as the market leader in Germany and the Netherlands. The delivery service cooperates with the grocery stores Rewe and Edeka, among others.
