Dell completes its G series with the G16, a 16-inch laptop for gamers

After a convincing G15 in 2021, Dell announces a 16-inch version which therefore completes its G series, even if it means overshadowing the Alienware range.

This laptop is distinguished by a 16-inch screen displaying 2,560 x 1,600 pixels at 165 Hz. A 16:10 format panel better defined than Full HD, but also slightly higher and therefore more comfortable.

Inside, Dell chose an Intel Core i7-12700H (14C/20T) processor, accompanied by a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti or, depending on the model, a 140 W RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 Ti. The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, meanwhile, is reserved for laptops in the Alienware range.

On the memory and storage side, the G16 is rather conservative, since we will find configurations with 8 to 32 GB of RAM and SSDs from 512 GB to 2 TB. Dell is less generous in terms of connectivity; however, it would seem that a Thunderbolt 4 port is intended for RTX 3060 and 3070 configurations, those in RTX 3050 being satisfied with a USB-C port.

In France, the availability of the G16 has not been communicated by Dell. Across the Atlantic, the entry ticket is $1,399, without the exact configuration being known.
