Dell renews its line of affordable Inspiron computers


After the high-end XPS, Dell has updated its Inspiron series laptops with a design that does not really evolve, but which embeds more recent components, in particular 12th generation Intel processors.

Dell’s Inspiron range allows you to enter the world of the brand without breaking the bank, alongside the mid-range Latitudes and premium XPSs. They are nonetheless interesting PCs that can offer good value for money. The brand is currently renewing many of its computers, and it is now the turn of the Inspirons to benefit from the latest improvements, with the arrival of 12th generation Intel processors in particular.

A host of formats available

All formats will be able to benefit from it – 13, 14, 16 inches, as well as the 2-in-1 model –, sometimes with the choice between Intel 12th Gen Core i3, i5 and i7 or Ryzen 5000 from AMD. All are adorned with a Full HD or optional 2.2K screen (2240 ​​x 1400 pixels) with a 16:10 ratio (slightly higher than 16:9). They can carry up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM and 1 TB of SSD storage. Interestingly, they now all have a 1080p webcam which should deliver a better video conferencing experience than the old 720p ones, as well as ambient noise reduction microphones.

These PCs will be available in silver gray, green or pink at the following recommended prices: the Inspiron 13 at €749, the 14 inches, 14 2-in-1 and 16 inches from €829.

The Inspiron 14 Plus and 16 Plus

These models are a bit apart and are at the top of the series basket since they can accommodate a dedicated Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050, 3050 Ti or 3060 graphics card to enjoy some games or hardware acceleration in software. compatible (3D rendering, photo or video editing in particular). The 14 Plus is new and will be adorned with a 2K panel. The 16 Plus will be equipped with a choice of a 3K screen (3072 x 1920 px) or Full HD + (1920 x 1200 px). Both computers will be able to mount up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM (40 GB for the 14 Plus) and 2 TB of SSD storage.

More muscular configurations which logically make them more expensive than the other models: you will have to pay a minimum of 1099 € for the 14 Plus and 1349 € for the 16 Plus, but the price is likely to soar for the largest configurations, in RTX 3060 in particular.
