In partnership with Dell, we offered three of our readers to test the Dell XPS 13 ultrabook. After several weeks of use, their results are positive. In all circumstances, the computer was able to meet their expectations!

For Guillaume, a high-performance, aesthetic and practical PC

After a month of testing this superb Dell XPS 13, I can only regret having to return it. As I have often said, he only has qualities. Its compact size and light weight allowed me to take it everywhere, even to slip it into the front pocket of a suitcase or at the bottom of a backpack for a school outing! Its very beautiful screen makes it possible to work whatever the light conditions. For example, it is ideal for telecommuting from the garden!

Despite the mini-format, no compromise has been made on the configuration (Core i7, 16 GB of RAM, 500 GB of hard disk) and connectivity, even if it is necessary to switch to USB-C. There are still, on the left, two Thunderbolt 4 compatible USB-C ports, and on the right, the headphone output, a USB Type-C with DisplayPort and a microSD card reader.

This computer can do it all. It is suitable for professional use (web development in my case), but also for office automation, multimedia, and even gaming to some extent. Be careful however, it is unfortunately not equipped with a dedicated graphics chip, we are “content” here with the Intel Iris X chip, integrated into the processor. The GPU still offers a lot of possibilities, provided you don’t put everything to the bottom.
In summary, I totally fell in love with this machine!

For Lucas, a good tool for mobile workers!

The Dell XPS 13 computer is a compact PC that impresses with its lightness and robustness, so many assets when you are often on the move. Visually, the screen is very beautiful and qualitative. Personally, since the PC cannot switch to tablet mode, I have no use for the touch screen. But it’s a plus that can be useful to others!

The autonomy of the device is satisfactory. I particularly appreciated the light that lets you know the percentage of battery remaining without having to turn on the device, it’s very practical and comfortable. This PC adopts USB-C, convenient to go towards the unification of all the connections and perfect for charging! It is really easy to recharge the PC everywhere. On the other hand, for the transition phase, it will be necessary to provide adapters.

Dell XPS 13 Pro Ultrabook Reader-Testers – Lucas

The Windows 11 interface is very fluid and pleasant. The XPS 13 remains a laptop, certainly powerful, but a little tight for certain very demanding uses. It sometimes has a little trouble on very large files, but nothing out of the ordinary. The 512 GB was more than enough for my use, since I store a lot online.

In summary, I would say that the Dell XPS 13 is a good ultraportable computer, with performance and chassis quality. It is perfectly suitable for classic professional use, especially on the go. This is also its great strength: allowing us to work anywhere!

For Stéphanie, a very compact and autonomous computer with a magnificent screen!

The computer is compact, thin and yet very robust. Its small size allows it to be carried everywhere in a handbag, which is very practical when you travel a lot like me, from meeting to meeting. Its light weight is also an asset!

It starts quickly and automatically connects to the already assigned network. Regarding autonomy, for word processing and reading e-mails, nothing to complain about. It lasts 12 hours with no problem. In short, it is perfectly suited for a day’s work in the field.

Very important for mobile workers, the luminosity is excellent, even in “eco” mode, which I regularly activate at the end of the day! The screen isn’t glossy and feels bright enough even in bright light conditions.

The processor is very good and fast, one of the best I’ve used. I also note very good graphics performance. Finally, the hinge is resistant, which allows me to open the PC flat, prop it up against my steering wheel in my car to check e-mails (while parked of course) or to take quick notes between two appointments. you.

In summary, I do not find many faults with this beautiful machine. Only downside, I had to buy a USB-C adapter to transfer my files and connect the printer, because it was not supplied with the PC.
