Deloitte and Neoxia want to form a French cloud leader

New phase of consolidation on the French ESN market, which alone represents 52.4% of digital industry revenues in France (source: Numeum). Founded in 2000, the Neoxia group is preparing for a merger.

Composed of Neoxia and Skale 5, and presenting itself as a ‘360 cloud company’, the group announces that it is entering into exclusive negotiations with the international firm Deloitte. These discussions aim to lead to a takeover.

A technological and business alliance on the cloud

For Gilles Mergoil, president and founder of the company, this merger pursues a particular objective: to make Neoxia one of the cloud leaders in France. “And I am convinced that the best way to achieve this is not to do it alone”, justifies the leader.

Employing 250 engineers in France and Canada, with a specialization in the development of native cloud solutions, data and cloud infrastructures, the group wants to bring together the “business and technological expertise” of the two entities.

Among these technological expertise is in particular the mastery of AWS and GCP cloud environments. Neoxia is indeed the owner of Skale 5 (founded in 2018), a player specializing in DevOps and AWS and Google Cloud Platform migration.

The merger of the ESN and Deloitte France, which remains to be finalized, should lead to the creation of a support offer “unique on the market, combining strategic vision and capacity for implementation in the cloud. ‘ladder.”

Privileged relationship with hyperscalers

The two groups highlight their status as “leading partners” of American cloud giants: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. Marriage suitors promise even stronger alliances with hyperscalers.

“We are thus confirming our ambition to be the leading partner in digital transformations, to build the economic models of tomorrow”, declares Gianmarco Monsellato, President of Deloitte France and French-speaking Africa.

The strategy is therefore clearly focused on the development in France of Cloud hyperscaler ecosystems. To be implemented, the operation is subject to the prior consultation of the employee representative bodies.

As for the financial terms of the merger project, they are not disclosed. The role of the current leaders of Neoxia is however known. Gilles Mergoil, Jean-Baptiste Paccoud (director of Digital & Data activities) and Jean-Pierre Chamarande (Skale 5), would join Deloitte as Partners.
