La Rivelia has something to delight the undecided or lovers of a variety of pleasures. Indeed, this new espresso grinder from Delonghi is equipped with an interchangeable bean container, a first in the sector of automatic coffee makers with grinder. No need to choose one and the same coffee for the dozens of drinks to come: supplied in pairs, the bean hoppers can be filled with two different coffees in order to vary the flavors during the day or to satisfy everyone’s cravings. world.
For this new system, Delonghi’s Rivelia won the gold of the Grand Prize for Innovation at the last Paris Fair. With these interchangeable trays, the Italian manufacturer is trying to compete with the portioned container and to educate the consumer more about coffee beans.
Overlooking the machine, the 250 g bean container is perfectly visible and is equipped with an anti-UV filter to prevent the coffee from oxidizing. Before changing the container, and therefore the type of coffee, the user has the choice to process the 10 g of coffee remaining in the grinder: take a last coffee, purge the machine or mix the coffees of the two containers.
For the rest, the coffee maker embeds Delonghi’s flagship technologies. The Bean Adapt, in particular, makes it possible to automatically adjust the grinder and the extraction parameters according to the type of coffee chosen. In addition, the machine adapts the recipes throughout the day by memorizing the user’s routine. If tastes are more inclined towards a long coffee at the end of the afternoon, for example, the Rivelia will remember this and offer this drink during this period. In all, the coffee maker has eight recipes, or 17 in its version with the milk carafe.
The Rivelia should soon take place in our laboratory. And of course, this coffee maker presented as innovative will be subjected to the same tests as its competitors. The tests will not be easy!
For now, Delonghi has already announced the price of the two versions: you will have to pay €799 for the coffee maker without the milk carafe and add €100 to be able to make milk drinks.
