How the pricing table works

A pioneer in the world of home automation and the connected home with its X2D and X3D protocols, French company Delta Dore has finally decided to adopt Zigbee. This open source low-power communication protocol is used by many light bulb and smart socket manufacturers. These can thus be controlled with the new Tydom Home and Tydom Pro boxes.

More than 400 compatible products

However, X2D and X3D compatibility remains assured and Delta Dore indicates that its new boxes can support more than 400 third-party brand products, which ranks these solutions among the most complete on the market… just behind Leroy Merlin’s Enki box, which claims for its part up to 500 compatible products. The Tydom Home box seems for the rest to take over the functionalities of the Tydom 1.0, which it can easily replace since it is possible to transfer the parameters. It is controlled with the same Tydom application – available on Android and iOS -, but also by voice with Google Assistant and Alexa, and allows the creation of scenarios.

The design is also very similar, since it comes in a small square box with a side of 10 cm that can be placed or fixed to the wall. For its part, the Tydom Pro box is neither more nor less than a version for the electrical panel of the Tydom Home. It can therefore be installed more discreetly. It takes the place of two modules and an external antenna is provided for the boards hidden in a metal formwork.

Three bulbs and a bonus outlet

To accompany its new boxes, Delta Dore is also launching an Easy range comprising light bulbs (Easy Bulb) and a plug (Easy Plug), which are also Zigbee compatible. The bulbs are three in number, and differ mainly in their base (E27, E14 and GU10). All of them can in any case emit white and colored light.

On the plug side, Delta Dore mentions compatibility with most electrical devices – it supports up to 16 A – and the possibility of monitoring the power consumption of devices that are plugged into it. If it is obviously possible to control it remotely, a button is still provided to turn off the devices without going through a smartphone or a voice assistant.

The new Tydom Home and Tydom Pro boxes were launched at recommended retail prices of €164 and €174 excluding VAT respectively, but they can already be found for much less than that in the shops. The Easy Buld bulbs are around 40 €. It is necessary to plan a little more than 50 € for the Easy Plug socket.
