Demi Lovato's grandfather was ill for a long time, now he has died. The singer says goodbye to Instagram – and apologizes.
Demi Lovato (27, "Sober") mourns the loss of her grandfather Perry. As she writes on Instagram about several pictures of the man, she had to learn after waking up that he had died early in the morning. "He had been sick for a few years," the singer explains to her over 86 million subscribers. And although she was relieved "that he was now relieved of his pain", she was saddened by the thought that the family could not say goodbye to him "with an appropriate funeral". "But that's the reality during this pandemic."
The pictures Lovato published of her grandfather, "one of the best preachers", show him in different stages of life. The singer can also be recognized on one of the snapshots, apparently at an event to which her grandfather accompanied her. "I'm sorry that we didn't take more photos together," the 27-year-old writes. Instead of many pictures, she has "so many memories that make me smile until we meet again someday".
