In a documentary about her life, singer Demi Lovato also talks about an overdose that almost cost her life in 2018.

Demi Lovato (28, "Cool For The Summer") has revealed how closely she escaped death after her overdose two years ago. In a trailer for her new documentary "Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil" ("Demi Lovato: Dance with the Devil"), the singer reveals that she suffered several strokes and a heart attack after the overdose in 2018.

" According to US media reports, Lovato said her brain had been damaged at a virtual press event: "Entertainment Tonight" quotes that she does not drive a car because she has "blind spots when seeing". She also had difficulty reading for a long time. For weeks she saw only blurred. She has struggled a lot with the effects, "and I think somehow they're still there to remind me of what could happen if I ever get to a dark place again".

Relationship with Max Ehrich is also discussed

It is not known which substances led to the Lovato overdose. When asked whether she is "now completely clean", she says nothing in the trailer, just keeps staring into the camera. In the four-part documentary directed by Michael D. Ratner, which will be running on YouTube from March 23, it will be about the singer's drug past as well as about the corona crisis and Lovato's short love story with actor Max Ehrich (29), including engagement and separation.
