Demonstrations of yellow vests, student rallies…. A high-risk second round this Sunday?

The second round of the presidential election, which takes place this Sunday, could be disrupted by a large wave of protest. Indeed, several demonstrations and gatherings are planned in Paris and everywhere in France by different organizations.

This poster opposing Emmanuel Macron to Marine Le Pen acts as a “trap” for millions of voters, in particular those of Jean-Luc Mélenchon and leftist supporters in general.

As a result, on the initiative of comedian Samuel Churin, a rally in Place de la Bastille, in Paris, is organized at 8 p.m. in order to express “disagreement” and the “willingness to bring together the newly elected power”.

Several student processions will also set off in the capital and throughout France.

In Paris, they will converge on the Panthéon and the Place du Châtelet at 8:01 p.m., after the results of the polls.

The yellow vests in ambush

As in the first round of the presidential election, the yellow vests are calling for a boycott of a ballot they consider “as an electoral masquerade”.

Thus, they are planning a static rally “for control of the ballot boxes” this Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Place de la République in Paris. The yellow vests join in particular the protest movement against the vaccination pass.
