Thousands are celebrating their anniversary with Queen Margrethe II in Copenhagen – retrospectively.

(dpa) After two delays, the red-and-white party can rise: Queen Margrethe II celebrated her 50th anniversary of the throne together with countless compatriots. During a carriage ride through Copenhagen, thousands of Danes and tourists cheered the now longest reigning monarch on Saturday on the side of the road. The 82-year-old then appeared alongside Mayor Sophie Hæstorp Andersen on the town hall balcony.
