In a letter addressed to Meta employees to justify the bleeding in the American giant’s workforce, Mark Zuckerberg had indicated that the company would pay a severance package of 16 weeks of base salary, plus two additional weeks for each year. on service, without ceiling. He had also assured that Meta would cover the cost of health care for affected employees and their families for six months.

Compensation halved for no reason

However, members of the Sourcer Development program say they only received eight weeks of basic pay and three months of health coverage. This difference in treatment surprised these collaborators, since they were full-time employees of Meta, and not contract employees. “Even our former managers insisted that we were confused and that all the information they received indicated that we should indeed be offered 16 weeks of salary and six months of health insurance”the group of employees wrote in a letter to Meta executives, including Mark Zuckerberg and Lori Goler, the director of human resources.

For the time being, the staff of the American group has not replied to this letter, the authors of which are asking for help in solving the problem. Instead of fulfilling its commitment, Meta simply sent some Sourcer Development members gift boxes to congratulate them on completing this training program.

If these ex-employees still want to believe in an error by the administration of the Californian company, the first elements do not encourage optimism. In addition, the managers in charge of the latter had assured them “Many times” that they didn’t have “no need to start applying for jobs outside the company”. This new hiccup will not restore the reputation of Meta, which had a disastrous third quarter, with profits down 52%, to $4.4 billion, and sales down 4%, to $27.7 billion.
