“Der Bergdoktor” actress Monika Baumgartner: “I asked myself if my character died in a serial death”

“Der Bergdoktor” Season 16 will probably be remembered for a long time by many fans as the most dramatic season to date: The dispute between Martin (Hans Sigl, 53) and his brother Hans (Heiko Ruprecht, 50) became so acute over the last few episodes admits that he threatens to divide the entire Gruber family. The viewers can also be forgiven for seeing the veteran Monika Baumgartner, 71, die in her role as Lisbeth Gruber, the matriarch of the family, as a serial death – even the actress is unsure about the whereabouts of her character.

Because in the season finale, Lisbeth suffers a dizzy spell and even falls into a coma! The fact that her health was deteriorating so much was the “valid reason” necessary to stop Martin from emigrating to New York, as the actress explains in an interview with “TV Spielfilm”. “If Lisbeth is doing badly, then he has to stay. The other way around, the series would be over.” However, not even Baumgartner knows how her role will continue. “I asked myself if my character died serial death.” How season 17 will continue and, above all, what will happen to Lisbeth – the actress is just as excited about that as the fans are.

“Storm of Love” will soon be available without André Konopka

“Storm of Love” fans have known his character of the cook André Konopka for many years – now the actor Joachim Lätsch, 66, will turn his back on the role and the telenovela. The first signs of this were already in mid-February when it was announced that Laura Osswald, 40, would make her debut on “Sturm der Liebe” – as a chef to replace André, who wants to open a new restaurant in South Africa. At this point, however, it was still unclear whether his absence would be of a temporary nature or whether the chef was planning to start a new life away from the royal court.

Now his departure is official: As the actor revealed to the “Bild” newspaper, he had long thought about his departure and discussed it with his family. “I really had a great time, was employed at Bavaria Studios, shot every day and earned well,” says Lätsch in an interview. After almost 16 years, he wants to try new roles, and a job as a director is also conceivable for him. Actress Laura Osswald is expected to follow in André’s culinary footsteps on Friday, April 14th.
