The actors Hans Sigl and Mark Keller revealed how the “Bergdoktor” series will continue after the finale. More details.
The 15th season of the popular doctor’s series “Der Bergdoktor” (ZDF) ends today (Thursday, March 17) with the episode “What remains” (8:15 p.m.). Instead of a happy ending, a farewell letter moves you to tears… But I don’t want to reveal more at this point.
And there is one farewell that the fans should be prepared for: the winter special will no longer be available next year. This refers to the feature film that has been broadcast with a plot detached from the series since 2010 in the week before the start of the season. The broadcaster spot on news confirmed the end of the winter special when asked.

But there is a replacement, as ZDF also confirmed: “For the upcoming shooting, we decided to shoot an additional episode for the new season instead of a series special,” says the broadcaster about the 16th season. And further: “The shooting for the new season is currently in preparation.” Exactly when the film will be shot, content or the names of the guest stars have not yet been revealed.
The two series stars Hans Sigl (52) and Mark Keller (56) revealed that there will be a 16th season even before the start of the 15th season. In mid-December, at the end of filming for season 15, they said in a joint video clip that on the series’ official Instagram page was published: “We’ll see each other again soon when it starts again…”, says Sigl and Keller adds: “…in the 16th season, because we’ll be shooting like crazy again next year.”
For 30 years “Der Bergdoktor
“Der Bergdoktor” is a new edition of the series of the same name, which was broadcast on Sat.1 from 1992 to 1997. At that time, actor Gerhart Lippert (85) practiced as Dr. Thomas Burgner and was last year by Harald Krassnitzer (61) as Dr. Justus Hallstein replaced. Since 2008, Hans Sigl has been helping as Dr. Martin Gruber and his team the patients.
