Descent impossible – Drunk e-bikers to Almgaudi in “mountain distress”

It’s not called “drunk” for nothing: two e-bikers who had looked too deeply into their glasses on a mountain pasture above Innsbruck on Monday fell on the way down to the valley. Both men ultimately couldn’t make it any further and had to be rescued by mountain rescue.

There’s no sin on the mountain pasture – that’s what the people say. That’s what two Tyroleans aged 62 and 65 probably thought on Monday and had a drink to their thirst in an alpine hut on the Innsbruck Nordkette. Apparently without first thinking about how they would get back to the valley safe and sound. “Since they were no longer able to ride their bikes down to the valley due to their alcohol consumption, they pushed them,” reported the police. But then the 62-year-old in front suddenly fell – and the disaster began. Hikers made an emergency call. The companion wanted to come to the aid of the drunken man, whereupon the 65-year-old fell himself. Ultimately, both drunken men lay there and couldn’t get any further. Hikers recognized the “plight” of the two locals, thought that it was impossible for them to make it into the valley alone – and made an emergency call. Mountain rescue brought duo to the valley The mountain rescue arrived – The e-bikers were finally given initial care on site and then taken to the valley. The 62-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Innsbruck clinic.
