The Mountain View firm should take advantage of Google I/O on May 10 to present its Pixel 7a, the most affordable version of the Pixel 7 range. mobiles around 400 €.
As you might expect, the latter will take up the design codes of its two big brothers. In any case, this is what the images shared by the leaker OnLeaks on its Twitter account (in collaboration with the MySmartPrice site). We discover a device that looks very similar to that of the Pixel 7, which comes in three different colors. In addition to the eternal white and gray, we can see that the firm should offer a pretty pastel blue.
The Tensor G2 chip at the controls
According to the site, the Pixel 7a should be equipped with a 6.1-inch Oled panel, capable of offering an image refresh rate of 90 Hz. The Californian giant could therefore use the same screen as on the Pixel 6a. The visuals show fairly wide borders, like last year.
Under the latter, Google should logically opt for its in-house Tensor G2 chip, perhaps coupled with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM (compared to 6 GB on the Pixel 6a) and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A capacity doubled compared to the previous model.
On the photo side, this Pixel 7a should be equipped with a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 main sensor, as well as a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. There is also always the presence of a Led flash located on the right of the photo island. Enough to take beautiful shots for this price segment, especially thanks to the excellent work of the firm’s algorithms. Selfies should not be outdone, since this Pixel 7a could carry a 10.8 Mpx front sensor.
The battery size remains unknown, but should be roughly similar to that of its predecessor (4410 mAh). We hope that it will support a recharge exceeding the 18 W of the past. Some rumors also mention compatibility with 5 W wireless charging, which would be a welcome novelty.
Great promises therefore… provided that the price has not increased too much. It only remains to wait a short month to discover the complete technical sheet of the smartphone.
