The Sonos mobile application has a new look, and for this occasion it offers a new interface and revised ergonomics. The update is expected for May 7, on Android and iOS.

For more than 20 years now, Sonos has been responsible for providing sound to our interiors (and exteriors) through an ecosystem that allows you to pair several audio devices and enjoy complete broadcasting with Wi-Fi (or Bluetooth). . Everything can be controlled from a mobile application which will soon benefit from a refresh.

Sonos renews its mobile application

Sonos promises a completely redesigned mobile application, which will make it easier to enjoy our favorite musical pieces. On the home page, you will find the different services available (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Sonos Radio, etc.), while the search function will display results obtained from these same services.

Along with this new mobile version, we learn that desktop applications will not be there. Sonos will soon abandon its control applications for Windows and macOS, in favor of a new web application. This will allow us to control our connected speakers and access them wherever we are, and not just when we are at home, via Wi-Fi.

May 7 on Android and iOS (and a web app soon)

The firm also promises a clearer view of the user’s entire system, with the ability to more easily view (and control) each speaker and group. In the blink of an eye, you can see what is being played and where.

After extensive development and testing, we are confident that this revamped app is easier, faster and better. It once again raises the bar for home music listening and allows us to expand into new categories and new experiences. », Explains Sonos CEO Patrick Spence.

This new Sonos experience will be available from May 7, on Android smartphones and iPhones, without forgetting the new web app which will also be accessible on the same date.

Sonos Move 2

  • Sound power
  • Balanced mids and highs
  • User experience

A new technological tour de force, the Sonos Move 2 is a slight but notable evolution of the brand’s first Bluetooth/Wifi speaker. Compact and light enough to be transportable, large enough to display sonic ambitions, it has a sober design and excellent manufacturing quality.

Its redesigned ergonomics allows it to integrate into the rich connected environment of Sonos, while behaving like a Bluetooth product if necessary. Very durable, it is served by almost impeccable controls, directly derived from the new Era range.

Its sound reproduction is not to be outdone, and marks the transition, certainly perfectible, to a stereo architecture. Powerful and controlled, the sound of the Move 2 is in very good continuity with the brand’s modern creations. Aside from some inaccuracies in the treble, this speaker borders on excellence.
