The switch to free-to-play has revived the craze around Fall Guys. In just 48 hours, the game passed the 20 million player mark despite the servers crashing for several hours.

When it was launched, Fall Guys was very popular with players but also streamers and youtubers who played the game. Unfortunately, over the seasons the game has lost its luster to such an extent that Mediatonic, its publisher, took a radical decision, making it free for everyone. This Tuesday, June 21, Fall Guys became free-to-play and we have to believe that all studio expectations were exceeded.

Indeed, this change in pricing policy has had its effect since Mediatonic has revealed that it has recorded over 20 million players in just 48 hours. This performance is all the more remarkable in that it was made when server problems have occurred when it launches on Tuesday. Some had the opportunity to float in the air for endless minutes, but that doesn’t seem to have dampened the vast majority who wanted to (re)discover Fall Guys.

To see now if Mediatonic will manage to retain a large part of these players or if as before, Fall Guys will lose popularity over the months.
