despite this major change, the device would remain lightweight

Expected early next year, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra would be equipped with a new titanium chassis. More dense and resistant, this metal would however not lead to an increase in weight for the device.

Titanium instead of aluminum. In the manner of what is expected on the next iPhone 15 Pro, Samsung would adopt a new titanium chassis for its future Galaxy S24 Ultra, thus replacing the aluminum frame found on the current models of the Korean manufacturer. The adoption of this metal, which is denser and therefore stronger than aluminum, will probably allow Samsung’s next flagship to be more resistant to shocks and falls… without being heavier.

In any case, this is what this week tells us Ice Universe, whose words are reported to us by SamMobile. The leaker, very active on Twitter and sometimes well informed, indicates in particular that the future S24 Ultra will weigh exactly 233 grams. If this estimate is confirmed, the device would then be 1 gram lighter than its predecessor, the current Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Galaxy S24 Ultra: which technical sheet for the next top of the range from Samsung?

Samsung would resume for the rest a fairly similar design for this new model. So we shouldn’t see a major look change with the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The latter would also retain, unsurprisingly, an IP68 certification (water and dust resistance) and would have a reinforced Gorilla Glass screen. Nothing really new.

The device would otherwise benefit from a large 6.8-inch “Dynamic AMOLED 2x” screen, with 120 Hz refresh and QHD + definition. There would also be a 200 Mpx Isocell HP2 main rear photo module, a 12 Mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 50 Mpx module with x3 optical zoom, supplemented by a 10 Mpx sensor with x10 optical zoom.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra would finally be available in two versions: the first equipped with an Exynos 2400 (presumably for the European and African markets and for certain Asian countries), the other with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (for the North America and China). The two chips would anyway be engraved in 4 nm and powered by a 5,000 mAh battery compatible with 45 W fast charging.
