To be completely honest, we weren’t expecting anything specialjust to see the new ones in more detail Supers of Light and the Subjugatorsall live. We couldn’t be further from what was introduced during this presentation, starting with the fact that it was pre-recorded and we understand why with so many elements condensed into just under twenty minutes if we don’t count the trailers. After a more than mixed reception last August resulting in a fairly low rate of pre-orders, then a postponement accompanied by layoffs, Bungie clearly had his back against the wall. It is unfortunately in this type of situation that the studio seems to struggle the mostbecause we were more than pleasantly surprised by the new features introduced. If we believe the words of Paul Tassi, it even seems that these elements were only added after the August showcase. If this is the case, it would be even more astonishing, in addition to being consistent with a certain feeling of letting go, because the developers will truly launch into nature something to break the entire balance of the sandbox To our greatest delight, which they mention several times. After this long introduction, let’s take stock of what has been revealed. From the first seconds showing gameplaythe icons of the interface linked to skills immediately jumped out at us and for good reason, they were of different colors, not to mention the presence of a new bar under the Great. There Prismatic doctrine will be based on a principle as simple as it is enjoyable illustrated by a concept art beautiful : to be able to combine our powers of Light And Darkness previously acquired. Besides the possibility of using skills of different types together, as well as moreAspects And Fragments than usual (the exact details of operation and possible restrictions remain unknown for the moment), this will result in the presence of two gauges filling gradually of our use of these types of powers. When these two segments have joined, the Transcendence can be activated. Its triggering will also be quite stylish, theArcanist waving his hands in the manner of Doctor StrangeTHE Hunter making a movement with a knife and the Titan punching his fists ready to fight.
Each class will have a new unique grenade in this state, combining Light And Darkness : Stasis And Abyssal for’Arcanist, Solar And Stasis for the Hunter, Filobscure And Cryo-electric for the Titan. There Transcendence will regain our grenade and melee attack when activated, and weapon damage bonuses will stack. On his site, Bungie clarified that THE Aspects And Fragments unpublished from the Prismatic doctrine will only need to be unlocked once for the entire account.
Another new feature directly linked to these powers, the addition of exotic class items (bracers, capes and pennants). Yes, it already existed in destinybut these will be very different. They will be able to combine two attributes from other exotic equipment, even if they are not our class! To not make this too abusive, these perks will be random and will only activate with the Prismatic doctrine. We will have to wait to see the list to judge their full potential, but it already makes us want it.
Finally, the last element that we frankly no longer expected is indeed the revelation of an entire race of new enemies, the faction ofFear (Dread in English), of which we already knew the first representatives. After THE Tormentors last year in Eclipse / Lightfallbased on NezarecAnd the two kinds of Subjugators revealed last summer, inspired by Rhulkthese are four other types of units that have been revealed within this band of beings shaped by the Witness. Many players had been disappointed that the pyramid ships were empty when they arrived in the solar system and the origins of our enemy did not allow us to fight his species. So the problem is finally solved. It has been all the same since the Infamous In Renegades / Forsaken (2018) that no new races had been addedwho were also from Fallen (Eliksni). Bungie had since contented itself with modifying skins or to slowly create new units for existing factions, such as the Wyverns where the Guardians of the Bright brood of Savathûn, in order to bring a little variety. And in itself, even the Corrupted were ultimately only the enemies of D1 Vanilla modified, so such new developments after a decade are clearly quite an event.
We will therefore have to deal to Reapers (Grim)nicknamed “bat with a gun”, a highly mobile aerial unit capable of slowing down and suppressing our skills with their cry. THE Shells (Husks) will be real acrobats good in melee, who will have to be eliminated by touching their weak point at the risk of seeing a sort of flying worm come out of their body once killed, which will rush at us. THE Attendants (Attendants) And Spinners (Weavers) will be Psions remodeled, respectively handling the Stasis and the Filobscure.
In addition to these new features, Bungie added a second one to the pre-order offer for the expansion Emblem and an exotic ship that sells dreams, simply called Pyramidal vessel. Get ready to see pyramids of all colors in orbit! Yes, the studio brought out the heavy artillery to boost pre-sales of The Final Form and it shows.
In addition to this marketing aspect, the presentation showed many elements not discussed by the developers. In terms of campaign missions, three names came up repeatedly, namely Temptation, Dissent And Transmigrationwhether in mode Classic Or Legendary. Two Forgotten sectors will be called The Forgotten Deep And The Broken Deepif it is not the same at different stages of development. At least one Assault baptized Liminality will be included, or even two if the unnamed one asking to explore The Forgotten City is different. An activity reminiscent of a derivative of Intensification Protocol will also be on the program, Overthrow the landing, who was at level 3 with a goal of scoring 1,000 points. Finally, several areas were seen, including two named: The Divide And The Maelstrom.
Please also note that the weapon held at the beginning by the Guardian when the Witness reveals a Subjugator is the automatic rifle Rebellion from the Abyss of Raid The Fall of Croptain case you’re not familiar with it. The trailer shown at the very end is intriguing, because the female voice calling us “Light of Hope” is new. Could it be that of Traveler ? This would fit with old concepts and veiled statues encountered for years. Wait & see.
