Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, relive the end of the Season of the Seraphim with its incredible CGI cutscene

The countdown to the release of the expansion Eclipse continues and we are now only two weeks away from our trip to Neptune to discover the city of Neomunawhere we will learn the ropes of Darkthread. If you had left the game aside once the plot of the Seraph Season completed, know that Bungie added a final quest this Tuesday, February 14, whose mission is available and replayable until the end of the season. And clearly, you don’t want to miss this in game, especially since a classy ship is offered. However, if you are curious and not afraid of spoilersthen you can find below the final cinematic of this Year 5full of emotions.

The main objective of the Seraph Season was to give a body to Rasputin while regaining control of the network of WARSAT by accessing a space station located in orbit of the Earth. Vigris and the troops of Xivu Arath were however on the spot, while Clovis Bray wanted to monopolize it like the good megalomaniac that he is.

During our recent interview with members of the writing team of Bungiethe case of Rasputin was rightly addressed, the reintegration of data from Felwinter and other lesser minds that instilled in him a notion of morality. If, like us, you thought he was going to become one more ally to fight the forces of Witness, so today’s development must have surprised you as well. In effect, the mission Abhorrent Imperative takes us back to the station of Seraph in order to prevent Vigris to attack us with WARSAT, whose security protocol she broke. And for that, the objective is to transfer the spirit of Rasputin in the station so that he can then self-destruct these weapons of war. It is therefore once transferred following a fight against Ir Garza, Scourge of the Earththat the cutscene has been triggered.

It just depicts what initially appears as the attempted escape of the Travelerwhat the Eliksnis have once lived and called the Tourbillon. The crow, Misraaks, Eido, Saint-14, Osiris, Zavala, Ikora, Saladin, Caiatlas well as all the inhabitants of the Last City all helplessly witness the departure of the one by whom this whole story began, while Vigris point them WARSAT in his direction andAnna is near Rasputin. You will notice that THE Witness appears before the leader of the House of Salvation through the cracked glass of the screens she uses. This is not the first time this representation has been used.especially in the expansion’s reveal cutscene.

As expected, Anna so launch theAurora Sacrifice Initiativeto allow Rasputin to destroy the WARSAT before they shoot, with a very touching farewell between the two. Because, yes, I’Warmind is indeed dead… He who was designed to destroy the Traveler ultimately chose to save his life. Anna can however count on his sister Elsie to find some comfort in this difficult time. As to Travelerit does not take flight, but now stands proudly in orbit of our planet, ready to face what is coming, namely the Witness and its fleet of pyramids, which includes among them an imposing flatter device, probably acting as a flagship. The fans of destiny will also have noted that everything was before our eyes from the beginningbecause the celestial map display depicts the Traveler above the Earth to get us to the Roundas well as theartwork icon of the license. Almost a decade after the launch of the first episode in September 2014, we’re finally there.

Moreover, new music is now playing at the Roundwith a horizon that seems very empty without this giant sphere… A pre-recorded message from Rasputin comes by the way to conclude the quest final dawnrevealing that the Neptunian city seen in a dream by Osiris is obviously very real, without however telling us its exact location (knowing that Netpune is 57 times larger than the Earth, good luck finding it). But the most interesting thing is thatit houses a paracausal object linked to the Traveler : THE Sail. The famous Nefele Fortress cited for the first time in completing the Table of Evidence extension The Witch Queen is otherwise just mentioned by talking about the files that housed this information and that we recovered in the Cosmodrome. At first glance, it was just that. Another question remains, namely who removed any further mention of Neomuna archives. The obvious answer would be Cloudwalkerbut Bungie might as well have teased something else at the bend of this sentence.

We will now have to wait to discover the sequel, which promises to be very exciting. Bungie will still have a few videos up for grabs to titillate us between now and the launch of Lightfall.

You can pre-order the extension at the house of Gamesplanet at the price of €44.99.
