Destiny studio sickened by some players

Some players sometimes go way too far, and as far as Bungie is concerned, the red line has been crossed. The Destiny studio has therefore made a decision for the good of the team.

For some time now, the Destiny 2 community has noticed that communication from Bungie has become more sparse. Just printing? No, and it is even wanted by the studio which provided explanations.

Bungie disgusted by some Destiny players

If Bungie is less present on the media level, it is because the studio decided to do so following very serious threats received by the developers and the harassment to which they are subjected. The vase has overflowed and the team will be quieter, the time to put in place what is needed to protect its members.

It was dmg04, senior community manager, who made an update on this lack of communication.

This is what is happening. The harassment we’ve been talking about isn’t limited to slurs on Twitter or vague comments. There have been real threats to our employees and our studio. We take them seriously, which leads us to reduce our communication times while the team develops strategies to protect themselves and avoid these kinds of things..

I will be very clear that I appreciate the studio helping me personally after severe harassment against me and my family. I take time off partly because of that. Just because you can’t see this harassment in a tweet or in a forum reply doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. This is in no way a punishment for people who can give clear and respectful feedback to our developers..

That being said, we can’t just close our eyes and pretend nothing has happened until these things are resolved. It sucks, but we want to make sure our loved ones and employees are safe and taken care of..

I can assure you that many team members watch the threads daily and talk about your feedback.

Other studios affected by these behaviors

Recently, it was the studio of God of War Ragnarok, Santa Monica Studio, which denounced the toxicity of some and called on them to stop these harmful behaviors. Some players had gone so far as to send photos of penises to the developers, on top of everything else, just for a release date. Yes, we are there, that is to say. Toxic and potentially dangerous behavior as highlighted by Bungie’s community manager, regularly pointed out by industry players, but to no avail.
