In March of this year, customs officials took a closer look at the van belonging to a Serbian citizen. The result of the inspection at the Kasern rest area: numerous boxes full of drugs were found between the cupboard, sofa and the like.
The 35-year-old driver initially denied having known about his illegal cargo to customs and police. On March 15, he should only have transported pieces of furniture from Hungary to Germany for his boss. He supposedly didn’t know anything about the drugs at the time. In court on Wednesday, however, he essentially confessed. The result of the trial before the lay judges’ senate: three years of unconditional imprisonment. The judgment is final.
