Deterioration in household morale in June in the United States


PARIS, June 14 (Reuters) – American household morale has deteriorated since the beginning of June, the first results of the monthly survey from the University of Michigan showed on Friday.

Its confidence index stood at 65.6 while economists polled by Reuters anticipated 72.0 after 69.1 in May.

The component of consumers’ judgment of their current situation rose to 62.5 after 69.6 and that of outlook to 67.6 after 68.8 in May. For these two subindexes, the consensus was 71.0 and 70.0, respectively. (Written by Claude Chendjou, edited by Sophie Louet)
