In the last news, Detroit Become Human had over 6.5 million sales since its release. A very nice figure which shows that the license is very popular today, and it is therefore no surprise that we see spin-offs landing on other media. Quantic Dream is now interested in the world of manga and is starting a new series today called Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories.
So it’s Tokyo Become Human?
The same way as Watchdogs with his manga Watch Dogs Tokyothis manga Detroit Become Human therefore moves the plot to the Japanese capital, where thewe follow the story of Reina, who is both an android and a idol. The plot takes place in 2038 and follows the revolution that will begin to emerge in Japan, even if Japanese society has accepted Androids much more than the inhabitants of Detroit.
This Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories is written by Kazami Sawatarito whom we owe Nakabosu-san Level 99, Saikyou no Bukatachi to Tomo ni Nishuume Totsunyuu! (sacred title), and is designed by Motorcycle Sumida (Kamigami no Asobi).
We know that the studio Quantic Dream oversees the project, and the series kicked off today in Japan. No statement has been made for the West at this time.
