Who is in line for the throne after the Queen as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announce second child

As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they’re expecting their second child together, we take a look at the new order of succession to the British throne.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their second child together, the couple announced on Valentine’s Day.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who currently live in California, shared the news by releasing a gorgeous black and white photo of Harry resting his hand on Meghan’s head as she lays in his lap underneath a tree, cradling her blossoming baby bump.

The royal couple, who are already parents to one year old son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, said their first child is set to become a ‘big brother’.

With the royal baby news, the current line of succession to the British throne has changed.

The first seven places in the line of succession will remain unchanged – but when Harry and Meghan’s new addition arrives, Prince Andrew will move down to ninth place.

We take a look at how the line to the throne will change once Archie’s sibling arrives.
