On the occasion of the European elections on June 9, 2024, Deutsche Bahn is offering a special contingent of 500,000 saver fare tickets for train journeys across Europe. This means you can travel to a total of 16 countries, including some holiday regions, from just 19.90 euros. However, there is a catch to the promotion.

Europe tickets at a super-saver price of 19.90 euros
Driving on holiday by car is not only stressful, but also quite expensive: fuel, tolls and vignettes often cost several hundred euros – not to mention the general wear and tear. Flights, on the other hand, are considered particularly harmful to the climate and can be very nerve-wracking, especially when it comes to baggage handling. The only option left is to travel by train. Here, too, things don’t always go according to plan, but the chances of getting cheap tickets are good.
Because on the occasion of the European elections next Sunday, June 9, 2024, Deutsche Bahn is increasing the quota by 500,000 additional “(super) saver fare tickets” for many European countries. This means you can reach around 150 cities and holiday regions directly and comfortably by train from Germany. Children up to 14 years even drive for free However, the campaign only runs until election day – Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 23:59.
A not unimportant restriction: The increased quota only applies to Train journeys from September 2, 2024 – i.e. after the main season. For example, if you want to travel in midsummer or during the school holidays, you may have to pay significantly more. Tickets can cost a maximum of six months in advance get booked.
With the “Sparpreis Europa” or “Super Sparpreis Europa” ticket you can travel to the following 16 countries:
- Belgium
- Denmark
- France
- Italy
- Croatia
- Luxembourg
- Netherlands
- Austria
- Poland
- Sweden

There are direct connections to some cities such as Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Prague, Vienna, Zurich and even South Tyrol.
