Musician Katja Krasavice made it to the “DSDS” jury chair next to Dieter Bohlen. A look at her career so far.

The 20th and final season of the RTL casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” starts on January 14, 2023 at 8:15 p.m. (also via RTL+). Singer and rapper Katja Krasavice (26) is new to the jury. How did the musician become famous?

Katja Krasavice, her real name is Katrin Vogelová (occasionally also Vogel), was born in 1996 in Teplice, Czech Republic. In her early years she moved to Liebschütz in Saxony with her mother, her new husband and her half-siblings. Later she went with her mother to live with relatives in Leipzig. “I wasn’t treated well in this city. I couldn’t go out and I was scared,” explained Krasavice in an RTL interview about their bullying experiences there. However, it made her stronger and her will to succeed increased even more.

Number one hits and successful autobiography

In 2014, Krasavice launched her YouTube channel under her stage name, which means “beautiful woman” in Czech. With her freedom of movement and her openness on the subject of sexuality, she caused a stir. In 2017 she released her first single “Doggy”. The songs “Dicke Lips” and “Sex Tape” followed. In 2018 she was a participant in the sixth season of “Celebrity Big Brother” and finished sixth there. In 2019 she signed with Warner Music and released her debut album “Boss Bitch” in 2020, which made it to number one in the German album charts. In the same year she published her first book “The Bitch Bible”. In the autobiography, which landed on the “Spiegel” bestseller list, she tells of her dramatic youth, of bullying and the hostility she had to experience again and again, and how she “at some point showed the middle finger” to her fate as a victim.

Albums number two (“Eure Mami”, 2021) and three (“Pussy Power”, 2022) followed later. The single “Raindrops” with her “DSDS” co-juror, singer Leony (25), took first place in the German charts. All three records also made it to number one in the album charts. Now Krasavice’s first big TV job at “DSDS” follows. “I’m really looking forward to my fellow judges, to the singing, rapping and entertaining talents and to the guaranteed blatant time – I can start right away,” said Krasavice, who, with around 3.5 million Instagram followers, is one of the most successful Social media stars in Germany count, quoted in an RTL message. For the musician, in addition to working with Leony, it is not the first time that she has done things together with the jurors Dieter Bohlen (68) and Pietro Lombardi (30). Together, the three reinterpreted the 1998 modern-talking hit “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul” in 2022.
