During the “Champions course” masterclass organized by the FDJ company, the champions recalled the benefits of sport on the body… and the mind! Because before developing your sports practice, you have to understand what it can bring. Sarah Ourahmoune shares her experience, explaining: “ Boxing brought me many things: firstly to be in a spirit of exploration, todare to go in unknown paths. Second, succeed in sorting out, perhaps, your fears. Often we amplify them, we imagine lots of things that will never happen, boxing helped me learn about my qualities, about what I can master. For her part, Camille Ayglon-Saurina, handball champion, explains that sport helps develop self-confidence and boost morale. For the champions, sport also represents values ​​that they want to share with those around them and especially with their children. Sarah Ourahmoune explains: “ This is important because we know how beneficial sport is, it has a positive impact for the body and the head. I want to see my children flourish by playing sports. I immediately wanted to give them a taste for sport, effort and patience. »

The importance of media coverage

To develop the practice of sport, it is important to publicize it with a female audience and especially young girls. Public authorities, such as sports and the media, have a role to play. Camille Ayglon-Saurina says: “ I don’t know if today all the little girls would have gone through the practice of dancing. If many little girls see women perform in other disciplines than in the boxes where we want to put them, that will arouse vocations earlier. Me, small, I was told that handball was a bit violent. Then yes, media coverage is important. »

Tips for developing your practice of sport

Once you have all these things in mind, you have to practice. There are several options for this: registration in a sports club or gym. In any case, choose an option that allows you to have fun. One can also look for a partner with whom to practice a discipline. Some people prefer to set goals, with a detailed schedule, or even call on a sports coach. We can look for applications that help establish a sports routine, easily applicable at home. You have to try to do this step by step, without being too demanding with yourself at the start and thus allow yourself to progress little by little.
