In partnership with the CentraleSupélec engineering school, the General Directorate for External Security (DGSE) is back for a fourth edition of the game TRACKS.

The tournament is open to both students and professionals and you have until November 8, 2022 to submit your registration file!

Both students and professionals are expected at Paris-Saclay

TRACKS is the acronym of the Tournoi de Renseignement et d’Analyse de CentraleSupélec. Created in 2018, this game returns for its fourth edition after a forced break in 2020 due to COVID-19. Taking advantage of a prestigious renewed partnership with the DGSE, which is concocting the tests, the participants will work throughout the day on December 3, 2022 around the themes of crypto-analysis, data-science and cybersecurity. They will simply have to imagine themselves in the shoes of DGSE agents for twelve hours.

Players must collect as much information as possible which relates to signal analysis, chemistry and open-source intelligence (OSINT) and each of the tests has several levels. Of course, only the most seasoned can manage to find all the information in time. Hints can also be given to candidates, impacting the final ranking with the possibility of bonuses/maluses.

It is possible to line up with a team of 3 to 5 people and designate a captain. The teams can be mixed in terms of university background: if you do not have a team when you register, you can join one that is not yet complete.

Who to succeed the Bretons of ENSIBS?

The latest edition of TRACKS saw the narrow triumph of the “Cognac Cannelé Waffles”, students from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Bretagne-Sud (ENSIBS) who won 820 points. The podium was completed by “BleuBytes” from BRETSUD with 816 points, and “SHRECS” from CentraleSupélec with 801 points.

2021 also marked the opening of the tournament to professionals, who do not compete with students. It was Risk&Co which imposed itself on its competitors in the professional world. This is an opportunity for them, along with students, to also attend masterclasses given by the DGSE.

With no less than 15 companies and 450 students representing nearly 60 schools and universities last year, the TRACKS is enjoying growing success. The kick-off for this new edition will be given at 7:30 a.m. on December 3, 2022 and it will close at 11 p.m.
