Cybercriminals repeatedly try to get your data or money through various phone and email scams. For example, there is currently a phishing SMS in the name of DHL circulating.

It says: “Your package is being held due to missing house number. Please use the following link to check and update your correct address.”

A link follows and the instruction to reply to the SMS with “Y” or to open the link. Ignore this and doesn’t respond to the text message and doesn’t open a link. Brazen scammers want to trick you here and the consumer advice center also warns against this scam.

How do you recognize phishing emails?

A first indication that you have received a phishing email: The email will ask you to confirm personal information or enter it on a website.
