Diablo Immortal has already earned over $24 million for Blizzard


We didn’t have to wait for the results of Diablo Immortal to know that the free-to-play model was extremely profitable, but the game of Blizzard proves it once again. Despite the virulent criticism about its economic model, which poses a particular problem for many people once the endgame is reached, Blizzard can pop the champagne since the company is reaping record profits in just a few days.

Free-to-play pays off

With 10 million recorded downloads, we suspected that Blizzard was going to line its pockets, regardless of the criticisms about the game. And it did not fail, since according to Appmagic, Diablo Immortal grossed $24 million in just two weeks.

The site tells us that 43% of revenues come from the United States, followed by South Korea with 23% of revenues gambling in this country alone. The biggest spenders on the title are then Japan with 8%, then Germany with 6% and finally Canada with 3%. This makes Diablo Immortal Blizzard’s second most profitable mobile game, behind Hearthstone.

We imagine that with all this, Blizzard must put the Metacritic user score of the game into perspective, historically low for the company (0.3/10 at the time of writing these lines). But even with this success, we already know that Diablo 4 will not adopt the same economic model, which will relieve many people.
