Diablo Immortal is banned in Belgium and the Netherlands

After several years of waiting and some postponements, Diablo Immortal is finally about to launch worldwide, since its release is scheduled for June 2, 2022, on iOS and Android mobile devices, but also on PC. , through an open beta. Unfortunately, two countries will not be able to take advantage of it, namely Belgium and the Netherlands, as one of Blizzard’s representatives explained to those affected. The post ended up on Reddit.

This is, of course, not a decision of the studio, but rather of the authorities and regulations of said countries in terms of microtransactions. As you may know, Diablo Immortal will offer in-game purchases, some of which offer random content, which qualifies as gambling in Belgium and the Netherlands. Because of these laws, therefore, Diablo Immortal is banned from being published, as is. The FIFA license is also experiencing the same problem, while Lost Ark also saw its game not be able to be distributed in these two countries at the beginning of the year.

However, it is possible that in the more or less near future, the developers will launch servers dedicated to these countries, without the shops and paid elements with random rewards. Otherwise, it will be possible to play it, through a VPN, although this is not recommended and users using this system are likely to be banned. In all cases, Diablo Immortal will not be playable in the Netherlands and Belgium on June 2, unlike other countries around the world, including France.
