Diablo IV: a second beta unveiled and dated, it will undermine Blizzard’s servers

While we don’t know exactly how many players participated in the open beta, it’s obviously millions who tried. Diablo IV last month. It was not planned, but Blizzard announced yesterday during a live thatanother beta will take place between May 12 at 9:00 p.m. and May 14 at 9:00 p.m. (Paris time)on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and will be playable in co-op and in cross play. This Slam Test will be intended to test the load of the servers and will invite the community to meet every three hours starting May 13 at 6:00 p.m. to confront Ashava and create connection and activity spikes.

Players will not be able to carry their progress from the first beta, nor their progress up to level 20 in the Slam Test in the final version, but all those who will beat Ashava will exclusively receive the Ashava’s Sob Mount Trophy. If you didn’t get the Initial tortured title or initial victimTHE Title Early Prospector or Early Prospector or the Ornamental Object Beta Wolf Pack, you will also have the opportunity to do so during this period. Full details of the server load test are available below.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE SERVER LOAD TEST

Server Load Testing gives you one last weekend in the Underworld to experience a snippet of what Diablo IV has to offer, while testing the capabilities of our servers in preparation for launch. The prologue and all of Act I will serve as a backdrop against which you can paint with the bloody remains of slain demons. You can roam the first area, the Broken Peaks, at your leisure. Roam its harsh landscapes as a barbarian, druid or druidess, necromancer or necromancer, thief or thief, or wizard or witch, unleashing your devastating powers on your enemies and honing your skills along the way.

If you’ve been to the Early Access and Open Beta weekends, these details may sound familiar, but the server load test still has a few differences.

  • Character progress achieved during the Early Access and Open Beta weekends will not carry over to the Server Load Test weekend. Additionally, any character progress achieved during the server load test will not carry over to launch.
  • You’ll be able to level up your characters to level 20, after which you’ll stop earning skill points, but can still slay demons and earn cool pieces of gear.
  • Legendary item spawn rate has been changed to better reflect the rate that will be in effect from the launch of Diablo IV.
  • The version of Diablo IV available during server load testing will contain all bug fixes and updates detailed in our open beta retrospective.
  • The Broken Peaks are full of dangers to overcome, but also a variety of activities that will allow you to progress your character. Visit Kyovashad to repair and purchase new pieces of gear, upgrade your healing potion, access your chest, and more. You’ll also find main and side quests to uncover Sanctuary’s rich history, as well as world and legion events to practice your war skills and dungeons to collect gear.

Overcome the ultimate server load test challenge: Ashava

Get ready to face one of the most vile plots of the Underworld: Ashava. A fearsome juggernaut with razor-sharp brachial blades and scales tougher than breastplate, it has one thing in mind: to tear to pieces anyone who dares prevent it from drowning Sanctuary in toxic bile.

Bringing it down will be a monumental task, as your characters cannot go above level 20 during the server load test.

You will have the opportunity to fight Ashava during the server load test:

  • May 13 starting at 6:00 p.m. (Paris time), then every three hours until its last appearance on May 14 at 6:00 p.m. (Paris time).

PLAY AND GET SERVER LOAD TEST REWARDS

Killing the pestilence-spitting Ashava grants access to a new reward: the Sob of Ashava mount trophy. We’ve also reactivated rewards from the Early Access and Open Beta weekends to give you another chance to earn those tokens of prowess by shedding demon blood. Players who have unlocked these rewards will receive them when Diablo IV launches.

If you previously earned any of the rewards below during the Early Access or Open Beta weekends, you do NOT have to earn them again.

  • Initial Tortured Title or Initial Victim: Received for reaching Kyovashad with a character.
  • Title Early Prospector or Early Prospector: Awarded for reaching level 20 with a character.
  • Beta Wolf Pack Ornament: Received for reaching level 20 with a character.
