It didn’t take long for a player to be the very first to reach the maximum level of Diablo IV.

While the title was launched on June 2 in early access, Rob2628 took advantage of this weekend to achieve this “achievement”.

A hellish determination

Many players have visited Sanctuary when Diablo IV came out early last Friday. Many also (much like yours truly…) took this opportunity to literally sand this long-awaited opus over the weekend.

Among them we have Rob2628, who not only bled the game, but achieved what can be called a world record by reaching the maximum level of Diablo IV, set at 100, in 54 hours. And this with only eight hours of sleep. A determination to say the least… infernal.

This performance was achieved in “softcore” mode, and his choice for a good start was the Barbarian class. Rob2628 was thus able to take more risk in his progression during the story, then in the endgame. More specifically, this was done in groups, in particular by exploiting a flaw in the game to redo a specific dungeon on a loop.

A community of hardcore fans

The “true ones” will say that reaching the maximum level in the normal mode does not have the same flavor as doing it in “Hardcore”, where the death of your character is permanent. On the latter, no one has yet been able to boast of achieving it, but it will not be long.

Knowing that Blizzard has launched a challenge to the community in this sense to motivate the troops. The first 1,000 brave Sanctuary heroes to reach level 100 in Hardcore will see their name immortalized on a statue of Lilith in the publisher’s premises.

So many signs to say that the community of players has visibly welcomed Diablo IV with a certain enthusiasm… at the cost of their sleeping time. The team behind the game must breathe a sigh of relief, but its launch today is ultimately just the prelude.

During July, the title will indeed welcome its very first season of an apparently long series. In the longer term still, we have learned that Diablo IV will also host two expansions. A brighter than hellish future for Sanctuaire?
