Diablo IV promises hellish fluidity thanks to Nvidia’s DLSS 3.0


Good news for all those who are eagerly awaiting Diablo IV, the next installment in Blizzard’s cult saga. Nvidia has just confirmed that the title will be compatible with DLSS 3.0, the latest version of its AI-powered super-sampling technology. Enough to promise unfailing fluidity.

As you may know, the first public beta Diablo IV will open its doors this Friday, March 17 at 5 p.m. (French time) for all those who have pre-ordered the game. For others, the appointment is fixed for next weekend from March 24th.

For the occasion, Nvidia has just announced some good news: Blizzard’s new hack & slash will benefit from the technological advances of the latest RTX 4000 cards under Ada Lovelace architecture with DLSS 3.0 support.

DLSS 3.0 blows up FPS counters

As a reminder, this is the latest version of the green team’s AI-powered super-sampling technology. Available only on the latest GeForce RTX 4000 for now, this version pushes the FPS gain even further by exploiting a new option: DLSS Frame Generation.

This tool allows the DLSS to predict the movements of a scene, in order to allow the neural network to boost the number of frames per second and maintain optimal image quality. The first tests carried out at the end of 2022 show impressive results on certain titleswith a performance increase of 219% on Marvel’s Spider-Man or 400% on Cyberpunk 2077. We even reached 500 FPS on Overwatch 2.
