More than 10 years later Diablo III, his successor will finally point the tip of his nose on computers and home consoles next June. Before that, Blizzard is hosting two beta phases this monththe first reserved for players who pre-ordered the hack’n slash took place last weekend, not without some problems.
Diablo IV although it can be played solo, a connection to the servers of Blizzard is necessary, and these were undermined during this test phase. Friday night, when the beta was launched, you had to wait several hours before diving into the adventurewith the risk of suffering disconnections, or simply rollbacks quite annoying. With the mass of players expected for the open beta that will launch tonight, it’s a safe bet that it will be the same fight, but these worries are inevitable and even necessary. That’s what general manager Rod Fergusson explained to NME :
These days the word beta has been kind of misinterpreted, where people are starting to call things beta that’s actually a marketing beta, and that’s just another term for a demo. This is not our case at all. Our beta is actually testing our technology, especially on the server side. We had a bit of a rough start on Friday.
We’ve released six hotfixes over the weekend, we’ve fixed dozens of issues, and all of that work will pay off next weekend and then prepare for launch. Sometimes as a player it can be a little frustrating, but they have to recognize that they help us improve the game launch.
Well, according to Rod Fergusson, the open beta should go better this weekend and the launch should go smoothly. Hard to believe, all game launches Blizzard have server issues on launchthe most recent being that of free-to-play Overwatch 2 last October. Fingers crossed that the studio keeps its word, before trying the Druid and the Necromancer during this open beta. Diablo IV release date set for June 5, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, you can pre-order it for €59.99 on Amazon.
