(CercleFinance.com) – Diageo today announced its intention to open a new carbon-neutral distillery in Canada for C$245 million to support the growth of the Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey brand.
The facility will have a production capacity of 20 million LAA (liters of absolute alcohol, the equivalent of 10.5 million gallons) per year and will span nearly 400 acres, in St. Clair Township. In addition to the distillery, the site will also ensure the blending and storage of beverages.
Diageo will also shape the design and development of the distillery around carbon neutrality. The site will thus operate with 100% renewable energy.
