The time has come: Prince Harry and Prince William unveil the new statue of their late mother, Princess Diana. It is the first time since Prince Philips’ funeral that we see the brothers together.

Princess Diana died on August 31, 1997, she was only 36 years old. Today, July 1, 2021, she would have celebrated her 60th birthday. For this special occasion, their sons, Prince Harry, 36, and Prince William, 39, have a new statue of the Princess of Wales made. Today it will be unveiled in the “Sunken Garden” of Kensington Palace.

It is a minor scandal that the ceremony was not broadcast live. Royal fans are used to being taken along in real time on special occasions. Only a photographer, a journalist and a cameraman were allowed to be present at the private party in addition to the invited guests.

Now there are finally the first recordings of the brothers. The two are wearing dark blue suits and seem to be in a good mood, as a picture published by Royal expert Chris Ship on Twitter shows.

The celebrations have been overshadowed by the disputes between the brothers in recent weeks. Since the explosive Oprah interview of the Sussexes, Harry’s allegations in the podcast “Armchair Experts” and his series “The Me You Can’t See” as well as the serious allegations of bullying against Duchess Meghan, 39, the close relationship between the brothers is no longer a lot left.

Would Diana have wanted that? Hardly likely. It was not for nothing that she made her sons’ promise to always be “each other’s best friends” during their lifetime. “Never let anyone come between you,” demanded Diana.

In honor of their mother, the quarreling brothers now want to put their quarrel aside – at least for a brief moment. After the statue has been unveiled, there is a “private meeting” to finally clear the table. Royal experts are skeptical about whether the two can look to a harmonious future afterwards. The once so familiar siblings would definitely like it.
